How will you respond to the changes at Facebook?

Two weeks ago Facebook released a statement. If you have a business page, your organic reach will go from 5% to 0%, and they are now favoring posts that agree with their beliefs.

Organizations have poured many ad dollars into growing their Facebook following. This news could make those who put all their eggs in the Facebook basket easy.

The thing about this change is how quickly Facebook was able to make the change. There was no asking business or Facebook users. It just happened.

This announcement should be a reminder to marketers. Social media is useful for lead generation and is NOT a sales driver.

While it’s easy to get caught up in the likes, shares, and comments, we must consider the value of Facebook. There is not a strong correlation between sales and Facebook activities.

Remember, build your list. If you don’t have a list, you don’t have a business.

We continue to believe your mailing list is your most powerful asset. If you have connections on Facebook, you don’t own them. You cannot reach your connections unless Facebook allows it.

Shouldn’t you control your mailing list?

We can help you build and own your list.
